Camp is your home away from home while you are working.

We work hard to make camp a safe and comfortable place for employees. All employees have a part in keeping this space safe and comfortable for everyone.

Sapawe Camp

Camp Location

Off of Trans Canada Highway / Highway 11. Approximately 2 hours west of Thunder Bay.

Camp Life

This camp has:

  • 24/7 Kitchen / Dining Room
  • Recreation Unit with gym, conference rooms, and relaxation space
  • Smudge / Prayer Space for all religions and beliefs to pray, smudge, meditate, or other spiritual activies
  • Wifi

Breakfast 5:00 - 8:00AM
Dinner 5:30 - 8:00PM

24/7 Access

Dining and kitchen food offerings are available 24 hours a day. Beverages, baked goods, desserts, fresh fruit, and cold packed items (sandwiches, cold micro meals) are provided.

Hot Meals

Breakfast and dinner menu will be served only during posted service hours noted below. An advanced weekly dinner menu offerings will be posted in the kitchen/dining room area.



Take-Away Options

There may be hot lunch items for take-away / lunch bag packing. Breakfast and dinner are exclusively dine-in only. 

Special Requests

Special dietary needs like gluten-free, halal, and ethnic options shall be addressed case-by-case. Valard Travel Operations or the guest should inform the camp cook to accommodate these needs within reason.

Ignace Camp

Camp Location

13km West of Ignace Township, off of Trans Canada Highway / Highway 17. Approximately 3 hours northwest of Thunder Bay.

Camp Life

This camp has:

  • 24/7 Kitchen / Dining Room
  • Recreation Unit with gym, conference rooms, and relaxation space

Land Acknowledgement

The Waasigan Transmission Line Project is located in the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe people of Treaty #3 and Robinson-Superior First Nations, whose presence reaches back to time immemorial. The Project also traverses the Northwestern Ontario Métis Community and Northern Lake Superior Métis Community.
